Please be patient and check back soon.
I weave stories with photographs and videos, revealing the narrative power of objects and the echoes of their past. My work prompts a reassessment of the everyday, questioning how we perceive, define, and construct our surroundings. Particularly fascinated by the delicate landscape of memory, both personal and cultural, I am drawn to the enigmatic space between what we hold on to and what gets lost to time.
This evolving body of work delves into the layered histories of the American landscape, both cultural and natural, using photographic practice and process as a research tool and expressive medium.
Alternative process photography encompasses various techniques, including cyanotype, gelatin silver printing, anthotypes, and chemograms. These methods allow artists to experiment with light, chemicals, and diverse materials, leading to unique expressive prints.
By engaging with these historical techniques, I not only connect with the foundational aspects of photography but inject creativity, experimentation and individuality into the work.
This combination of historical context and personal expression results in distinct and meaningful pieces.
This series explores the concepts of time and space as reflected in the social and geographic characteristics of American small towns. Utilizing a vintage twin lens reflex camera along with expired Kodak film, I revisit small towns from my past to document their the unique quirks and delightful remnants. Through this journey, I aim to uncover the unique qualities that define these communities.
Pictures of who you are where you are.
